Reasonable adjustments

The Equality Act 2010 says all health and care organisations must make changes to their services so they can be accessible to people with disabilities.
This includes people with:
- Physical disability
- Sensory disability
- Learning or autistic disability
- Dementia
The NHS must make it easy for disabled people to use NHS health services by making reasonable adjustments. These could be things like:
- Making sure there is wheelchair access
- Providing easy read appointment letters
- Giving a priority appointment if they find it difficult
- Waiting in their GP surgery
- Longer appointments
